One year ago, I opened the (virtual) doors to Positive Fertility.  I was so excited to offer my coaching services and couldn’t wait to see where this journey took me.  I couldn’t wait to help other women navigate fertility treatments in a positive way.  I had learned so much in my own personal journey and would have loved a cheerleader in my corner who not only understood everything that I was going through, but also had the knowledge to guide me through the complicated process.  Over the past year I have brought that dream to life with the help of many but was also taught a lot of lessons in the process of opening a new business.

On this special anniversary I’d like to share several of the most important lessons I learned in my first year of coaching and thank my audience for teaching me so much these past 12 months. 

My audience is extraordinarily kind and compassionate
Say what you will about the internet but everyone I have met so far has been incredibly supportive and helpful.  It’s been amazing to connect with others in the fertility and women’s health online space and we love to support one another, share ideas and work together.  Look for me this fall on Meta’s podcast. 

Thank you for sharing
It means so much to me that my audience is so open with sharing their stories and trusting me to guide them on their journey.  I read every comment and message and when you tell me how my post spoke to you or that you relate to something I share, it feels amazing. 

Filters
In the beginning I often used filters when I was on camera, it saved me the time putting make-up on and all the other creators were doing it. At some point this year, I stopped. It didn’t feel authentic to me, I sometimes looked completely insane, and it drove me crazy when the filter information covered my content. I’m not here to look glowy and my complexion doesn’t need to look perfect for my content to shine.  It’s a relief that my audience seems to still like me, just the way I am. 

What you want
I’ve learned a lot about what my audience wants to hear about and what they don’t.  Thank you for making that so clear.  #RIPWellnessWednesday

Reels
Thank you for watching them, liking them, sharing them, and letting me have some fun.  I’m finally getting the hang of making them quickly, easily and with relevance to what you all want to hear about.  I’m chasing the latest trends a little less and decided the Instagram algorithm is not a code to be cracked.  I’m just going to give my audience the content I think they will find the most useful and hope the right people continue to see it.

Change is good
I have consistently edited my social media pages and website throughout the year as I learn, and I have such exciting plans for the future.  I want to continue extending my reach and allow Positive Fertility Coaching to be accessible to anyone who connects with me. 

Writing is still my first love
I have always loved to write and find moving my thoughts from my head to paper (or screen) to be one of the most effective forms of therapy for me. I’m so pleased that I’ve been able to incorporate writing my blog into the content I can offer my audience. The blog has already covered tons of great topics and I intend to continue it for as long as you are willing to read it. Please reach out if you have a topic you would like me to cover.

Social media is fun but, one on one is my favorite. 
I love creating posts and writing blogs for my audience to see and read but nothing fills my cup quite like a one to one meeting with a client.  Being able to see their face while we talk about their journey and the transformation to becoming confident in their family building goals is the most rewarding part of my job.

I’m pretty good at this – if I do say so myself
I still have so much to learn and lot’s of ways I want to grow but so far, I’m really proud of myself.  It takes a lot of courage to repurpose pain and create something beautiful out of past trauma.  I’m so passionate about helping my clients and my audience that I can’t help but get emotional with you, and my toxic trait is responding to messages in the middle of the night.  My clients know they can count on me and they know I’m rooting for them.

This community is special
Since opening Positive Fertility I have had the pleasure of connecting and networking with so many other womens’ health professionals. There is nothing more powerful than women supporting women and we love working together to offer our audience the best content we can. I’m working on a number of collaborations that you will see later this year.

I’m really proud of what I’m building with Positive Fertility and so thankful to my audience, clients and colleagues for supporting me over the past year.  The next 12 months are going to be so great for all of us.  Stay tuned my friends…
